2. What we collect, and why
This site collects personal data only when you deliberately fill in the booking request form. No sign-up or user account is needed to browse, and simply reading the pages collects nothing.

This information is stored in the hotel's booking software, which notifies the hotel by email, and is used only to handle your request and your stay. When these periods end, it is erased automatically: your stays remain in the hotel's statistics, with nothing that could identify you. Only invoices, which the law requires us to keep, retain the name and address they bear until their own retention period ends. This information is not subject to any automated decision-making or profiling.
Your bank card: we never receive its number and it is stored nowhere on our side. Payment takes place entirely on our payment provider's secure page, which returns only the amount paid and a transaction identifier.
3. Who receives your data
Your data is intended solely for the team at Hôtel La Châtaigneraie. It is never sold, rented or passed to third parties for commercial purposes.
These technical providers may have access to it in the course of their services:
- Hostinger International Ltd — website hosting and email delivery.
- Google (Gmail) — the address that receives requests is a Gmail address, so the contents of your messages pass through Google's servers.
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Limited — Ireland) — taking deposits by bank card. It receives your email address, the amount due and your booking reference. Your card details are entered on its own page and never pass through our servers.
4. Cookies and trackers
This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies. It uses neither Google Analytics, nor social network pixels, nor any ad network. No consent banner is therefore needed for ordinary browsing.
OpenStreetMap map: the Getting here page offers a map provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation. It is not loaded automatically: it appears only if you click “Show the map”. Until you click, nothing is sent. By clicking, you accept that OpenStreetMap receives your IP address, under its privacy policy.
Typefaces: the site's fonts are served by our own hosting. Displaying them sends no data to any third party, and no cookie is set in the process.
5. Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act, you have the following rights over your data:
- Right of access, rectification and erasure
- Right to restriction of, and objection to, processing
- Right to data portability
- Right to withdraw your consent at any time
- Right to give instructions about your data after your death
To exercise these rights, write to contact@lachataigneraieinevisa.fr or by post to the hotel's address. You will receive an answer within one month.
If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL: www.cnil.fr — 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France.
6. Security
The site is served entirely over HTTPS: what you type into the form is encrypted in transit. Access to the requests received is limited to authorised staff at the hotel.
7. Language
This page is an English translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
