Terms and conditions
Last updated: 24 September 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern bookings for rooms at Hôtel La Châtaigneraie, Lieu-dit Rimpianata, RD 84, 20126 Évisa, Corsica, operated by AFURNACCIA (SAS, share capital €1,200, trade register RCS Ajaccio 943 014 894). Making a booking implies full acceptance of these terms.
2. Booking
A request made through this site is a booking request, not a confirmed booking. You receive an immediate acknowledgement by email setting out the dates, the rooms and the amount.
A booking becomes firm and final once the hotel has confirmed it and, where one is requested, once the deposit set at the time of booking (article 3) has been received. The sum paid at the time of booking is expressly an advance payment on the price (an « acompte » under French law), not a holding deposit (« arrhes »). Its payment marks the firm commitment of both the guest and the hotel. If payment is not made within the period stated by the hotel, the room is released for sale again.
3. Rates and payment
Rates are shown in euros, all taxes included, excluding tourist tax. They apply per room and per night, for the occupancy stated at the time of booking.
- Double room, king-size bed: from €65 per night
- Twin room: from €65 per night
- Triple room: from €70 per night
- Set dinner menu: €26 per person — Savoury breakfast: €15 per person — Continental breakfast: €10 per person
Tourist tax, set by the local authority, is charged in addition and collected on site.
Deposit due at booking: 30% of the first night.
Accepted means of payment: credit card, cash and bank transfer. We do not accept cheques and ANCV holiday vouchers.
The balance is payable on arrival.
An invoice is issued on request, during the stay or after departure.
4. Deposit, cancellation and no-show
4.1 Cancellation by the guest
Any cancellation must be sent to the hotel in writing, in particular by email. Unless more favourable special conditions were expressly stated to the guest at the time of booking, if the guest cancels, the deposit paid is retained by the hotel and is not refunded. Where special cancellation conditions were communicated at the time of booking, they prevail over these terms.
4.2 No-show
If the guest does not arrive on the scheduled date without having cancelled beforehand in accordance with the conditions applicable to the booking, the booking is treated as a no-show. In that case the deposit paid is retained in full by the hotel and cannot be refunded. The hotel may then release the following nights of the booking for sale. No amount other than the deposit is claimed from the guest.
4.3 Early departure or shortened stay
Any stay that has begun is payable in accordance with the rate conditions of the booking. If the guest chooses to leave early, nights or services not used are not refunded, subject to mandatory legal provisions.
4.4 Change of dates
A change of dates can be requested by email or by telephone. It is free of charge, subject to availability; if the new stay costs more, the difference is payable.
4.5 Cancellation by the hotel
If the hotel cancels the booking for a reason attributable to it, all sums paid by the guest are refunded in full, without prejudice to any rights the guest may have under applicable law.
4.6 Mandatory legal provisions
The above provisions apply subject to mandatory legal provisions, in particular where specific circumstances give a legal right to a refund of the sums paid.
5. Right of withdrawal
Under article L.221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code, accommodation and catering services supplied on a specific date are not subject to the 14-day right of withdrawal. The cancellation terms in article 4 apply instead.
6. Arrival and departure
Check-in: between 17:00 and 20:00. Late arrival is
possible by prior arrangement.
Check-out: between 07:00 and 10:00. A later departure
may be charged as an additional night.
7. Pets
Pets are welcome for bookings made directly with the hotel (on this website, by phone or on site), for a flat fee of €10 per stay, and must be mentioned when booking. They are not accepted for bookings made through a booking platform such as Booking.com. They must remain under their owner's supervision and must not be left alone in the room.
8. Liability
Guests are liable for any damage caused to the hotel's property during their stay. The hotel accepts no liability for the theft or loss of personal belongings left in rooms, vehicles or common areas, unless deposited at reception.
9. Complaints and mediation
Complaints should be sent to contact@lachataigneraieinevisa.fr. Failing an amicable settlement, consumers are entitled to use a consumer ombudsman free of charge.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable settlement, the French courts have sole jurisdiction.
11. Language
This page is an English translation provided for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy, the French version prevails.
